Choosing a color is much like choosing a color for any other project in your home. You’ll want to first decide the effect you’re going for – are you looking to add character to the room with a bright color or are you looking for a more subtle accent that rounds out the room’s atmosphere? If you don’t know, you may want to consider starting with black. Yes, it’s a bold color that adds contrast, but it is still considered a ‘neutral’ tone what works well in a variety of situations.

Aside from choosing a color what are some of the considerations when painting interior doors? First, you’ll have to decide if you want to remove the door or paint it in place. Removing the door can make the job of painting easier and lead to better results (no drips!), but it can also lead to problems when re-hanging as the door can shift.
You’ll also need to evaluate if the paint on your current door is latex or oil-based and whether there are any imperfections in the door that you want to repair. It can be a time-consuming project, so you may want to consider bringing in professional help to ensure you get the results you desire.
