Kurt McKinney, formerly of Home Services Shop, is HomeSquare's new vice president

HomeSquare’s new vice president Kurt McKinney, formerly of HSS, still likes to don his tool belt from time to time.

HomeSquare has acquired Home Services Shop!  Based in Pleasantville NY with over 5,000 customers, HSS has operated for 15 years as the area’s premier handyman maintenance company. In 2014 the company was named Westchester Magazine’s Best Handyman. With this acquisition, HSS customers will now enjoy a greater range of home services, including renovations and emergency services. The merged company will provide a broad range of home maintenance and remodeling services to customers in New York and Connecticut.  The management of both companies enthusiastically support the deal.

A new era of service

“After 15 years of serving our loyal customers, we are excited for HSS to join HomeSquare and look forward to delivering the same great service and so much more”, said Mike Gilfeather, the founder of HSS.  “HomeSquare shares our values, and brings greater resources, an impressive technology platform, as well as greater home improvements/renovation capabilities to HSS customers.  We want to thank our employees for their dedication and our loyal customers for giving us the opportunity serve them.”

Beyond remodels and handyman work, HomeSquare’s range of home services includes their innovative maintenance plans and the completely customizable FlexPlan. Additionally, all of the company’s customers enjoy access to their iPhone app HomeJotter. This digital tool enables homeowners to create new service requests on the fly, approve estimates, ask questions, and access their complete service history. Emergency services entered via HomeJotter are responded to in minutes, thanks to the company’s automated systems.

“With this acquisition, HomeSquare cements our position as the fastest growing home maintenance company in New York or Connecticut,” noted Brian O’Neil, HomeSquare’s Managing Director. “The expanded geography will benefit our investment real estate customers, who often have rental properties spread out over many towns.”
